If you decided to start your trip in San Francisco, you’d want to fly into either San Francisco International Airport (SFO) or Oakland International Airport (OAK), and then make the drive north.įor the itineraries below, you’ll still fly into one of these airports. Leggett is about 200 miles north of San Francisco (about a 3.5-hour drive, if taking Highway 101), and Highway 1 primarily goes right along the coast before leading into San Francisco. If you want to truly commit to the full Pacific Coast Highway experience, you can add three to four extra days, starting further north in Leggett (where the PCH starts) and making your way south.
